Pikmin 3 Deluxe, a seemingly remastered version of the Wii U game, is coming this year from Nintendo. That’s according to Games Beat’s Jeff Grubb, who let slip that Pikmin is one of Nintendo’s Switch games this year. Grubb added that Nintendo, who did not share plans about its release slate for 2020 on Switch, is also remastering 3D Super Mario games, which lines up with earlier reports. Indeed, yesterday’s surprise Paper Mario: The Origami King reveal was previously said to have been in the works. Though he didn’t provide a release target, Grubb pointed out that Nintendo may surprise-announce the Pikmin 3 remaster because the company has been struggling to put together a more traditional Direct presentation, due to coronavirus. Nintendo has had good success with re-releases of Switch games, such as the chart-topper Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The company already brought Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, Xenoblade Chronicles and more over from Wii U, so it makes sense that this will continue.
