Alongside a new map, subscription service and Battle Pass, some new elements have appeared in Fortnite’s classic Battle Royale mode. NPCs now hand out Bounties you can complete during a match and there are lots of Gold Bars to find. You can collect and use Gold Bars during Battle Royale matches and they’ll stay with you once you’ve left a match, regardless if you came first or were eliminated. There are a few ways to collect them, so let’s take a look at what you’ll be doing.
Fortnite: Chapter 2 Season 5 - Where to find and use Gold Bars
Gold Bars can be acquired by completing Bounties, picking them up from foes you’ve eliminated, speaking with NPCs and completing challenges. You can even find them in safes and by smashing furniture, but it’s up to you to decide if making a lot of noise with your weapon or pickaxe while you’re destroying furniture is worth it. Completing an elimination bounty will net you a whopping 70 Gold Bars, so they’re definitely worth the effort. They’ll accumulate throughout the season so once you’ve earned some, they’ll stay in your inventory until they’re spent. You can’t buy them with real money - they are an in-game item only. You can use them to buy weapons, upgrade weapons or hire NPCs as bodyguards to help you clinch that Victory Royale. Speak with NPCs to purchase and upgrade weapons if you wish.
