Consumer spending on digital games is up 14% year-over-year to $10.6 billion according to numbers crunched by Superdata. According to the data, in October, console spending grew the fastest, with earnings from sales up 18% year-over-year (yoy). Mobile earnings were up 15% and digital for PC was up by 10%. Genshin Impact, released on September 28 for PC, mobile, and PS4, was October’s highest-grossing game. FIFA 21 sold 1.5 million digital units with revenue up compared to FIFA 20 launch month digital sales. The game was also the best-selling title for the month of October according to NPD. Watch Dogs: Legion sold 1.9 million digital units, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time sold 402K digital units, and Star Wars: Squadrons sold 1.1 million digital units in October. On the chart, the PC game with the best revenues for the month was League of Legends, followed by Crossfire. The top game on the console chart was NBA 2K21 followed by FIFA 21, Watch Dogs: Legion, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, respectively.
