The Microsoft Flight Simulator team is looking for community members to help test upcoming VR builds of the game. It will be a closed beta and rolled out in two phases (thanks, Blue). The first will focus on Windows Mixed Reality Devices, and the second will expand to include additional devices. Like previous alpha and beta phases, only a select group of testers will be allowed in at any given time....
Microsoft said this edition of the game “celebrates all the positive feedback” it has received and is being released as a thanks to players who have made it a success. With the Game of the Year Edition, you can expect five new aircraft such as the Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet military jet. It will also feature the VoloCity which is an eVTOL aircraft that uses electric power to hover, take off, and land vertically....

Despite the exciting hardware upgrades Xbox Series X will bring to console gaming, we’ve learned very little about how games plan to utilise that power. Microsoft has been regularly revealing new details about the hardware, but the same cannot be said for the games that will run on it. In a reply to a fan on Twitter, head of Xbox Phil Spencer acknowledged the desire for people to see next-gen games, and confirmed that fans won’t have to wait too much longer....
Ever since the Microsoft/ZeniMax (Bethesda) deal was revealed there’s been talk of which Microsoft IP would be best taken up by each of the numerous studios. Maybe MachineGames could develop a gritty yet humorous Conker shooter, id Software a Halo spin-off, Arcane Studios a new Shadowrun, and Bethesda Softworks a sprawling Halo-universe RPG. That’s not even considering ZeniMax Online, Tango Gameworks,and Roundhouse Studios. This, if it wasn’t obvious, is a big acquisition way beyond Microsoft now owning The Elder Scrolls, Doom, and Fallout....
This was perceived as welcome change to the traditional beta-to-launch schedule, as it would allow the developer more time to implement player feedback. Unfortunately, that was all wishful thinking. According to a Whatifgaming report by Ralph Valve, a leaker with a decent track record when it comes to Call of Duty leaks, the Modern Warfare 2 beta is locked in for September. The beta will take place over two weekends, the first is exclusive to PlayStation consoles - September 15-19....

Depending on which culture you started with, the spy will be different each time. Essentially, you’re looking for a spy who intends to betray the ruler in your game, and you’ll need to use your detective skills and wit to weed them out. This quest doesn’t appear to be time-limited, so don’t worry about NPCs telling you to hurry it up a bit, but be mindful that a wrong accusation can lead to you failing the quest, so save before making any decisions....

While this is a crossover that I certainly didn’t expect to see this morning, the teaser trailer for the event makes the collaboration seem almost seamless, once the bean exits the arena. The crossover event will be introducing new game mode, Through the Fire, to Naraka: Bladepoint. Throughout the mode, multiple swinging pendulums are present which can easily send you to your death, however, you need to carefully avoid them if you want some fresh loot....
The battle royale genre has reached a point of maturity now where meaningful new takes on it can emerge. I am not just talking about games that play with what makes a battle royale tick, but also game ideas you wouldn’t typically imagine as battle royales. Naraka: Bladepoint is one such game, a pleasant surprise that brings melee action combat to the genre. Bladepoint’s movement and traversal mechanics are also new for BR, a solid mix of grapple hook shots, running up walls, double jumps and dashes....
This trailer comes some time following the State of Play trailer we received back in the summer, the last big update we’ve gotten for the game/ While we got a glimpse of some of the major summons in the game, as well as some breadcrumbs narrative-wise, this trailer unleashes a torrent of new details We know that the devs have stuck with action combat in an attempt toappeal to a more modern crowd, and from what we’ve seen in trailers that seems to have turned out quite well thanks to some really dynamic looking action as well as a lot of spectacle (as you’d expect from a spectacle fighter), lots of high flying and flashy attacks certain give off an exciting feel to what we’ve seen so far....

Sony has devised some cool new tech that could turn anything into a PlayStation controller. That’s going by an application with US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) – as spotted by GamesIndustry.biz – which outlines how PlayStation reckons it could turn a regular non-electronic object into a game controller. In the filing, Sony uses, um, a banana (below) as one such item that could be used as a gamepad using this tech....
Renowned Valorant leaker, ValorLeaks, was the one to send fans into a frenzy. Yet, the codename for the new Agent isn’t actually all that new to us. When KAY/O was set to be released as the seventeenth Agent, we witnessed two codenames get leaked: Grenadier and BountyHunter. Now that we know KAY/O was, in fact, the Grenadier, we’re still left to work out who BountyHunter might be. It’s clear that they’re not Chamber or Neon, the two Agents since KAY/O, so it’s become apparent that this is a codename for a future Agent....
The next Pokemon Go Community Day will take place on Saturday, October 17. It will kick off at 11am and run until 5pm local time. During this time, Charmander will be appearing more frequently in the wild. If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one. Evolve Charmeleon during the event or up to two hours afterward to get a Charizard that knows Dragon Breath. The new social experience is a real-world social network that starts with a map and adds people, events, communities, and messaging. Here, players can discover others in their local area, message one another and share content, organize events and meetups, and foster the kinds of “real-world social connections” that Niantic prefers. Currently live in Ingress and coming soon to all Niantic experiences, Campfire will be downloaded as a separate app that can be used to form meetups for such things as raids, and to find others to play with during events or for trading....
The rumor comes from Kinda Funny Games, which said Nintendo “approached Disney" about adding Sora from Kingdom Hearts to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but it was Disney Japan that “specifically” nixed the idea. Why Disney is loath to include the character wasn’t stated, but Sora has been requested by fans more than once (thanks, Nintendo Everything). The most recent character to be added to the game was Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses in January....
Following on from the big RTX 3000 series reveal, Nvidia has announced a new pack-in game. Anyone who buys an RTX 3090, 3080 or 3070 will get a free copy of Watch Dogs Legion. The offer is also valid on pre-built systems using any of the new GPUs, and will kick off on September 17 - the day of the RTX 3080’s launch. Nvidia is also bundling a one-year subscription to its Geforce Now cloud gaming service....
Announced in a new trailer from Bandai Namco at Tokyo Game Show, fans of the Straw Hat Crew will be able to join the lovable pirates in their next video game adventure in just a few months. The new trailer sets up some of the story in the game, which unsurprisingly takes away the powers of each of the characters. As in many Shonen anime, the crew is quite overpowered these days, so you’ve got to do something to nerf them at the start of the game....
