Epic Games has yet to officially announce the new addition to their digital storefront, but buyers are already automatically receiving partial refunds for titles that were just available on discount. Studio Mayday co-founder Joshua Boggs was one of the first to notice the change to Epic Games Store’s refund policy, tweeting an automated email from the company. “The price of the game(s) you purchased were recently lowered, so we are issuing partial refunds for the difference(s),” it reads....

The Entertainment Software Rating Board announced its plans today, stating it would be adding the description “Includes Random Items” in its rating of games that allow players to makein-game purchases of random items. “In-Game Purchases (Includes Random Items) will be assigned to all games that include purchases with any randomized elements, including loot boxes, gacha games, item or card packs, prize wheels, treasure chests, and more,” the ratings agency wrote in its announcement....

On today’s indie-focused Xbox livestream, Rebellion revealed Evil Genius 2 for Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, later confirming the game for PS4 and PS5. The console versions are due for release in Q4 this year. Evil Genius 2 will also be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch. The only thing missing from today’s announcement is Switch news, which is sure to leave fans of the hybrid console hoping to play it on the go disappointed, though maybe a Steam Deck can solve that problem....

In September of last year, the EEOC filed a complaint against Activision Blizzard, alleging the company was responsible for employees facing sexual harassment, pregnancy discrimination, and related retaliation. A settlement figure of $18 million was agreed upon. At the time, California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing, which also has a lawsuit against the company, issued a formal objection to the settlement, noting it could cause irreparable harm to its own ongoing legal proceedings....

Minecraft Dungeons players will be able to enjoy the first batch of DLC for the game in July when Jungle Awakens is released. The DLC finds you in a dangerous jungle where you will fight a “mysterious power” in three missions. To help you on your missions, you will have access to new weapons, armor, and artifacts. Later this year, the second DLC pack Creeping Winter will be released. Details were not provided....

Alongside a fairly challenging boss fight, Catty Corner has a large gas station where you can fill up the tank of your shiny new vehicle. As there’s another challenge in this area involving a Vault, it’s likely to get pretty busy early on in the match, so try to either land there first or grab a few weapons to fight off opponents. It’ll take a few seconds to fill up the car, so watch out for opportunistic enemies....

Developer Epic Games has just made some tweaks to make Fortnite run better on older PCs. In a post on its website, the studio announced a new optional Performance Mode that makes the battle royale title run better on lower-spec hardware. In return for Fortnite running at a better click, users give up visual quality in order to lighten the CPU and GPU demands. To activate it, you’ll need to opt-in....

The final version of GPUnity’s texture pack is now available, and it makes some impressive changes to the overall game. The mod – which has been in the works since the game launched for PC back in 2017 – updates low-resolution textures and allows for more visual consistency in the game by fixing textures across various areas. “My goal is to provide a natural restoration to the low-res textures, maintaining the intended look,” creator GPUnity wrote on Steam – and by the looks of the trailer, that goal has certainly been achieved....

Konami announced GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon during yesterday’s Nintendo’s Indie World stream, though it will actually be landing on Steam Early Access before it hits Nintendo’s plucky little handheld/home console. GuruGuru is developing the game alongside Konami Digital Entertainment, and the companies seem to be taking inspiration from the original game’s 2D side-scrolling platforming. As per the developer, the game is a “Ukiyo-e style roguevania 2D action” game, and it looks gorgeous in action – see for yourself in the trailer below....
