In a presentation [PDF] released for Sony’s Investor Relations Day overnight, the company appears to let slip that Uncharted 4 will be heading to PC to join other PlayStation properties that have made the jump lately. The game appears on a slide titled “More PC releases planned” alongside Days Gone, which came out on PC last week (though it wasn’t quite as popular as Horizon Zero Dawn on the platform)....
The vast majority of the post focuses on those first two points - progression and future updates. It’s been revealed that a vast majority of players have been progressing through the games’ Tier one and two content at their own pace - exploring islands, levelling alts, farming the adventure journal, picking up makoko seeds, etc… Context provided in the post establishes that plenty of early tier content in addition to challenging tier three content was added to appeal to both casual and hardcore players alike....
Japanese showbiz news site Nikkan Taishu has picked up a story that suggests Kimura’s talent agency – the wonderfully named Johnny & Associates – have been preventing the series coming to PC because they don’t want the actor to appear in games on the platform. Apparently, Johnny & Associates “has strict control over the [likeness] rights of its talent, and the use of their image online is still limited to a few”, and it wants to keep a tight hold of the likeness....
The Japanese PlayStation Store has leaked the sequel of Judgment, the Yakuza spin-off. It’s called Lost Judgment, at least in Japan, and it’s going to be released September 24. As spotted by Wario64 and others on Twitter, two listings of the game could be found on the store, though not purchased. One is the standard edition, and another is a digital deluxe that comes with a season pass. Today’s Judgment Day event was supposed to reveal the game....
Mario Golf: Super Rush was announced this evening during the Nintendo Direct. The game features a story mode, the ability to earn XP and allocate points to stats, and you can use your Mii in versus play. You will be able to golf with familiar Mushroom Kingdom characters and enjoy multiplayer modes like Speed Golf, and more. You can even use motion controls by holding the Joy-Con controller like a golf club....
The cross-over event in No Man’s Sky is part of the game’s Beachhead Expedition update, and you only have until May 31 to unlock the Normandy SR1. For the last week, the community has worked on the expedition, by solving the puzzle of its “encrypted goals.” Today, players have discovered the mystery is the appearance of the SSV Normandy SR1 from Mass Effect. All players will need to complete the expedition if they wish to ultimately add the ship to their frigate fleet for good....
Mister Chief is a goofy bastardization of Halo’s Master Chief, a meme started by Halo boss Frank O’ Connor that paints the traditionally stoic character in a more humorous way than normal. The bundle comes with seven cosmetic items and costs 2000 credits, which works out to about $20 in actual money, though you save a little bit of money if you’re signed up for Xbox Game Pass. That’s a steep price to pay for a handful of cosmetic items, but people seem willing to pay the price to gear up and look how they want in game....

A selection of new job listings from 4A Games’ careers page (via PSU) suggests that the studio is hard at work on a new ‘triple-A IP’. One of the openings at the studio is for a senior game designer, so it seems likely that the game is still in the early stages of development of “a new AAA IP by the makers of the Metro series”. But what will this new game look like?...
After rumors of its existence, the game was announced during this evening’s Nintendo Direct. It features new controls and other new features. It will also be made available at retail, but a release date was not provided. Metroid Prime was originally released for GameCube in 2002 and stars Samus Aran exploring an alien planet of Tallon IV. It features revamped graphics, sound, unlockable art, and updated control schemes. According to VGC, Microsoft doesn’t want publishers selling Xbox Series X upgrades as DLC, and instead encouraged them to allow players to get next-gen copies of their games for free. Publishers and developers ultimately have the final say in this, but Microsoft is offering Smart Delivery support to any game that would take it. The platform holder is not mandating Smart Delivery, however, so publishers are still free to offer their own programmes, such as EA does with FIFA 21 and Madden 21....
The European Commission has officially approved Microsoft’s $7.5 billion acquisition of Bethesda parent company ZeniMax. Microsoft had asked for the EC’s approval earlier in February, a process all mergers of this scale have to go through to clear any anti-trust concerns. The European Commission’s website reveals that the decision was made on March 5, which matches the initial deadline set by the regulator. The ruling to approve the deal also doesn’t come with any conditions....
“We’ve heard your requests for cross-save and cross-play for Monster Hunter Rise and the Sunbreak expansion,” a tweet from the official Monster Hunter account said. “But unfortunately, after looking into it throughout the development process, we found we are unable to implement it this time. As always, we appreciate your continued feedback and support.” That means if, like many of us, you’ve completed the game and were hoping to import your data – and your awesome-looking hunter, replete in their crafted finery – to the PC version when it launches in January, you’re out of luck....

The SteamDB tracker, which gives users an insight into the mysterious goings-on on the Steam storefront’s backend, has picked up two updates to the original Quake game on Steam. According to the history that’s being logged by the tracker, a new beta branch has been added to the game, as well as a new 64-bit executable. What could that mean? It could mean that we’re getting some sort of ray-tracing update to the original game (simiarly to what we’ve seen with Quake 2, previously) or it could mean that we’re getting a teaser for a whole new Quake project, too....
