Rockstar has confirmed that it’s going to implement one player’s fix for GTA Online, which they recently shared with the world, promising a significant decrease to the game’s loading times should it get added to the game. Rockstar told PC Gamer that the fix actually works, and that it’s going to make it into the game with the next title update. “After a thorough investigation, we can confirm that player T0st did, in fact, reveal an aspect of the game code related to load times for the PC version of GTA Online that could be improved,” Rockstar said....

Earlier this week, Guerrilla announced on Twitter that online servers would be shutting down for a couple of Killzone games. “On 12 August 2022, online servers for Killzone: Mercenary, Killzone Shadow Fall (including Intercept Mode) and RIGS: Mechanized Combat League will shut down. Online features (including online multiplayer modes) will cease on that date,” reads the tweet. But single player modes will still be available. RIGS is the most recent of the three titles, having release in 2016, and requires the use of a PSVR headset....

The BAFTA has announced the full list of winners of this year’s BAFTA Games Awards in a digital ceremony. The nominations, revealed earlier this month, included some of last year’s biggest games in 18 categories. The Last of Us Part 2 was this year’s most-nominated game, claiming nominations in 13 categories, but it wasn’t last night’s big winner. That honour instead went to Hades, which ended up with five wins....

Available to Insiders on PC and Xbox, Infinite’s co-op supports four players and cross-play, meaning you can play with others across PC, Xbox One, and Xbox X|S. All progress earned in co-op will also transfer over to your single-player campaign. The flight also includes Mission Replay. In Infinite, missions are locations in a much larger playspace of other mission locations. Because of this, with Mission Replay, you will use the Tac-Map....

This promotion will come as a running monthly package, providing the prizes mentioned above to all those who apply. The first pack will be landing with players on December 8, with continued support coming for the foreseeable future. Players will have to check the perks gallery on their Xbox platform of choice in order to receive these gifts, which are coming in the midst of the ongoing controversy surrounding Halo Infinite’s progression system and their effect on the player experience....

It’s something the developer is eager to ensure remains in the follow-up, Horizon Forbidden West. In a new PlayStation Blog post from Guerrilla Games community lead, Bo de Vries, we’ve heard more about what the studio is doing to make the world-building in the sequel even better, and how the studio is creating a believable world in both settlements and environments. A key factor in making the world work harmoniously comes from the development pipeline itself; per the piece, several departments (including narrative, environment artists, and quest designers) all work in unison to make the game’s various tribes look identifiable and have unique behaviours and cultures....

There are six lenses dotted around the area in total, which you can hand over to a vendor after completing a side quest found to the north of Barren Light. Finding the locations of these lenses is one of your first opportunities to scour Horizon Forbidden West’s landscape looking for treasure, and is a great excuse to marvel at the beautiful scenery. Be aware however, two of the signal towers are only accessible after completing specific side quests - but we’ll point you in the right direction once they become available....

Some details and confirmation of what we saw of Horizon Forbidden West during Sony’s State of Play were addressed by Guerrilla Games in two separate interviews. In the first interview with Julien Chièze, it was revealed that the game will support 60 FPS mode on PS5, which is good news for owners of the console (thanks, resetera). It was also confirmed that free climbing will be a factor in gameplay, allowing you to climb virtually everything....

But, despite some of the ways the game is returning to Final Fantasy’s retro roots, there is one place the game is innovating: combat. Early on in the game’s life, it was confirmed that Final Fantasy 16 will not feature turn-based combat – something that was a staple in the games up until Final Fantasy 12. Instead, the action will focus more on real-time, player-directed sequences similar to something a player may find in, let’s say, Devil May Cry 5....

The free content train for Insurgency: Sandstorm continues with the game’s biggest update yet, available now. The Nightfall update brings night maps to the game for the first time. All existing maps, including the new Tideway, can now be played at nighttime. You’ll also find an assortment of night vision goggles, infrared attachments, and of course, flashlights. The even bigger news is that night mode is available in co-op. Outside of the new map, the update introduces even more content in five new weapons....

Sony has released a demo for Iron Man VR, and it contains various missions and an interactive cinematic. The demo features the Malibu tutorial mission, and the Stark Jet cinematic starring Tony, Friday, and Pepper Potts. An optional mission called Flight Challenge is included along with the gameplay mission Out of the Blue, and Advanced Combat Challenge which is another optional mission. If you download and play the demo you will unlock the exclusive Molten Lava Armor Deco which will be available upon purchase of the full game....

There’s a few things that make us say that. Firstly, a new website registration suggests that Sega is about to lift the lid on another title containing the small, spiky, blue creature. An official Sega domain – on the URL frontiers.sonicthehedgehog.com has appeared, leading fans to think that a Sonic Frontiers reveal could be on the proverbial cards soon. With this year’s Game Awards coinciding with the launch of Cyberpunk 2077, there’s bound to be at least one or two nods to the open-world sci-fi RPG. One thing that looks certain is that Forza Horizon 4 will be announcing a special collaboration, which appears to have already leaked. Following a recent update to Playground Games’ open world racer - which adds new stunt racing mode Super7 - some fans have discovered that when filtering the settings for car models, the ‘Quadra V-Tech’ has been added....

It is to Pokemon what the Nintendo DS was to the Game Boy - a “third pillar,” Nintendo argued, with a new Game Boy coming - until wild success meant that, no, the DS was actually the successor, and probably was all along, but for some light bet-hedging. Maybe that’ll happen here. There are omissions from Pokemon Legends: Arceus, seemingly largely made to streamline things and tighten the scope of things....

As revealed over at IGN, the PS2-esque, action-adventure game is officially coming to Steam just over a year after its initial release on September 27. Along with it comes a pretty big Anniversary Update, which will come to PS4, PS5, and the Epic Games Store where it was previously a PC exclusive. Players that want to run through the game another time but with all of the abilities unlocked will now be able to do so thanks to the New Game+ mode, which will also include previously unlocked upgrades, outfits, Rot, and more....

Square Enix has officially revealed that Kingdom Hearts 4 is in development, and boy howdy does it look different from previous games. A seven minute long trailer was released showing it off alongside a new mobile game called Kingdom Hearts: Missing-Link, but we’ll get to that in a minute. Also, a spoiler warning for the end of the events of Kingdom Hearts 3, as the end of that game is necessary for understanding the sequel....
