The video shows a pirate waving to a passing ship, and the voice-over asking if you can “hear it calling to you.” It then goes on to speak of a “forgotten world of adventure,” and a “kingdom of riches beyond compare,” before stating “it waits for you.” Then, the video zooms in, goes under the waves, and you get a glimpse of ruins sitting on the ocean floor....

Shin Megami Tensei 5 follows the story of an average high school student who accidentally drops into a dystopian alternate Tokyo. This dark, challenging turn-based JRPG impressed reviewers with its gripping story, entertaining interactions, and other quality-of-life improvements that built on past iterations. Persona purists weren’t as pleased with the grimmer story, but it’s still worth considering for fans of turn-based combat and morally challenging concepts. For those of you who aren’t a thousand years old, Triple Trouble is a classic 8-bit Sonic game. Because the 8-bit games came out at roughly the same time as the 16-bit games, they’re rightly not as revered or beloved – but they are still, broadly, lovely little platformers that attempt to adapt the Sonic formula for much weaker platforms. A few of these games were loose adaptations of their Mega Drive equivalents – but a few were all-original affairs....
Sony has announced nine titles coming to PS4, PS5, or both, which are part of the initiative. According to Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida, the goal is to not only support indies in a competitive market, but to make sure PlayStation is the “best place to develop, find, and play great indie games”. As part of PlayStation Indies, one new indie game will make its way onto PS Now each month, and this will kick off with Hello Neighbor coming to the service in July....
In a statement sent to GI.biz, Sony said PlayStation Plus subscribers in Poland will have access to Sony Pictures Entertainment content for a limited time through PlayStation Plus Video Pass. “Sony Interactive Entertainment and Sony Pictures Entertainment announced a new limited-time benefit, PlayStation Plus Video Pass, a new app for streaming popular movie and TV content from SPE,” reads the statement. “This benefit is offered as a trial for PlayStation Plus members in Poland as part of their membership....
Even if you’re not into the third-person, over-the-shoulder, hide-in-the-grass formula that many cinematic PlayStation blockbusters like to abide by, you cannot deny the quality of these titles. They’re big budget, glamorous, prestige games – interactive media’s version of Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, or The Sopranos. The fact that Sony has more or less cornered this market over the past few generations is admirable, really. We just have to hope the platform holder doesn’t pigeon-hole itself and risk becoming something of a one-trick pony (even if that one trick is particularly stunning)....

Though it is a massively popular game, Fall Guys does not quite have the cheating epidemic other hot games suffer. Cheaters do exist, however. As bizarre of an idea as it does to cheat in a casual game about playing some weird physical mini-games, some people nonetheless have. In response, developer Mediatonic has been working behind the scenes on a few solutions. As it stands, when a cheater is detected, they need to first finish the show (mini-game) being played before they’re kicked out....
According to the data, consumer spending totaled $7.6 billion in December, a 2% increase year-over-year (yoy). This growth brought full-year 2022 spending to $56.6 billion, which is a 5% decline compared to 2021. The yoy decline was attributed to the lack of console stock at retail and a smaller slate of new triple-A releases along with macroeconomic conditions. During December, hardware spending grew 16% yoy totaling $1.5 billion. This brought total 2022 spending to $6....

PS4 owners who previously signed up to be notified of future firmware beta tests, have received a new message highlighting an upcoming firmware update: version 7.50. Spotted by MP1st, Japanese users first shared the email on Twitter, before users in other regions received a similar message. According to one Resetera forum member, 7.50 doesn’t bring any major new features. Instead, the firmware introduces “quality-of-life and performance fixes.” Those additions weren’t detailed in the email, but Sony doesn’t usually beta test firmware updates at this scale unless there’s something interesting being changed or added....
