Frontier announced in its latest financials it has acquired the exclusive IP license to develop and publish a real-time strategy based on Warhammer Age of Sigmar. The tabletop game is the latest iteration in the series and features the Grand Alliances of Order, Chaos, Death and Destruction vying for control of the Mortal Realms. “We are delighted to announce this licence with Games Workshop,” said studio boss David Braben in the announcement....
The real-world price of Fortnite’s virtual currency, V-Bucks, is being permanently discounted for up to 20% off. The new prices kick in today, and they’re valid across PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. Fortnite players on Android and iOS could also take advantage of the cheaper prices, but only if they’re willing to pay Epic Games directly, bypassing the built-in systems on App Store and the Google Play Store. To facilitate this, Epic is introducing a new direct pay option, which players on mobile will see anytime they decide to buy V-Bucks....
Battlestate Games, developer of the title, announced the new title over on its Twitter account, paired with a short teaser trailer. The new title looks to be more of the base game, just with that competitive flair found in other shooters. “Escape from Tarkov Arena is a standalone game project - a session-based multiplayer first-person shooter for PC with all the known and beloved hardcore game mechanics of EFT,” writes Battlestate games on Twitter....
The new Fall Guys update had added a new playlist called Slime Survivors and provides a few tweaks to Season 2 items such as nameplates. According to Mediatonic, the new Slime Survivors playlist isn’t just another back-to-back Slime Climb, as it is a mixture of Survival rounds. Those that survive will go on to Hex-A-Gone and Jump Showdown as finals. Along with the new playlist comes an increased chance to see Medieval rounds, and it decreases the chance to get nicknames and nameplates in the regular store....
The account is currently locked, meaning that any tweets it posts will be hidden. The username is @FF16_JP, which follows the series’ naming conventions on social media in some ways, but not all. For example, Final Fantasy 15’s Twitter username is FFXVEN, which uses Roman numerals and has no underscore. However, Final Fantasy 14’s account is FF_XIV_EN, meaning that the underscores aren’t necessarily indicative of this being a fake. It’s obviously worth noting that it still uses XIV as opposed to 14, and the FF16_JP account clearly uses 16 in its ordinary numeric form, but that doesn’t totally discredit it....
The developers of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Integrate have fixed the door on Cloud’s room in the game. Apparently, the door in the PS4 version of Remake suffered from bad textures compared to other areas of the game, leading many to think the door in the Sector 7 slums was meant to be metal. That isn’t the case it seems, as it was supposed to look like a typical wooden door....

The team at Microsoft has added enhancements to backwards compatible titles by developing FPS Boost, which employs a variety of new methods for nearly doubling the original framerate on select titles. This results in higher, steadier framerates to make games visually smoother. Games that will benefit from FPS Boost first, starting today, are Far Cry 4, New Super Lucky’s Tale, Sniper Elite 4, UFC 4, and Watch Dogs 2. Microsoft said it chose these titles because they are popular with players, and to also highlight “several different ways” FPS Boost can improve the experience....

Players have watched it being built over the last week and it should be ready soon. Omega Knight quests revolve around finding seven level-up tokens, and you’ll get a new cosmetic for reaching each milestone....
According to documents from June 2020, Epic had some interesting plans for Fortnite players, such as concerts with big names and the addition of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to the game as part of the Icon Series. The documents state that The Rock was slated to come to the game during Q1 this year, which ending in March. This doesn’t mean the actor isn’t coming to the game at a later date....
While there have been a few named location changes in the Fortnite Season 3 map - RIP Deadpool’s party boat, we will miss you - the headline really is that most of the old Fortnite map is now underwater. It’s not going to stay like that for long though. As the season progresses, the flood water will recede, revealing even more new and secret locations for you to explore. As well, with less water to aid your movement around the map, as it goes away new vehicles like sports cars are going to be added....

It’s easy to miss, and it’s also easiest to reach if you drop close by. The storm swallows the cove quickly, since it’s at the map’s edge. This will allow common USB-C chargers to work regardless of device and manufacturer, cutting down on e-waste. It also means that those devices won’t need to ship with a USB-C charger in the box. Xbox Games Studios, the collective name under which all its first-party development studios is known, has had a great year. As per Xbox games marketing GM Aaron Greenberg in a new post on the Xbox Wire, “1.66 billion hours [of Xbox Game Studios games] have been played [in 2020], the most ever year-to-date for Xbox Game Studios titles”. That’s a lot of hours! The post also mentions that Sea of Thieves has surpassed 15 million players to date (up from 10 million at the start of the year)....
The annual gamescom show will not take place for five months, but some of the planned measures have been outlined in light of the corona crisis. According to organizers, the existing digital options such as gamescom: Opening Night Live and other streams will be “significantly expanded and new modules added.” This means gamescom will “definitely take place,” at least in a digital format August 25-29, and will not be postponed....
The physcial portion of the event will be held at Koelnmesse in Cologne alongside an “extensive” digital program available online worldwide. Orgainizers state a hygiene and safety concept that has been tested and proven by Koelnmesse many times will be deployed for gamescom 2022, and in harmony with all currently valid regulations to ensure “safety and a high quality of stay.” To that end, measures such as improved admission management, digital queue management, extra-wide aisles or limited ticket allotments will be implemented....
