Sony’s State of Play pre-recorded presentation series comes roaring back to our screens today with a new episode, and it’ll be a 30-minute long behemoth showing off a mix of blockbuster and indie titles. While you take them out like any other eldritch animal in Fallout 76, the Honeybeast has a couple of especially interesting - and deadly - powers that can leave you in a sticky situation. First off, its incapacitating sting saps your Strength SPECIAL stat, which can make you start bleeding Action Points from being over-encumbered if you’re flirting with your weight limit. Wo Long Fallen Dynasty is headed to Xbox Game Pass (inc. for PC) on March 3rd, and for our money it’s shaping up rather nicely. Borrowing its lore from the Three Kingdoms period of Chinese history, it shares a few common elements with Dynasty Warriors, but with a vastly different, dark fantasy twist to proceedings. In case you haven’t been paying attention, this is the first WWE 2K game since 2019’s absolute disaster of a game, WWE 2K20, hit consoles and PC. The previous game saw some or all of the game’s modes go inaccessible, and the title was plagued with performance bugs, too. For some reason, back at the Games Developer Conference in 2019, Google decided to put on a small exhibit that featured the E.T. game for Atari, the Sega Dreamcast, and the Nintendo Power Glove. The exhibit was meant to tease the Stadia, Google’s cloud-based platform, but the through line of these three icons of gaming is that they were all notable failures. Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red often avoided comparisons to GTA, despite the games’ shared similarities. On the surface, both games let you explore a vast open world, hotwire cars, and wreak havoc anywhere you go. But CDPR likes to think Cyberpunk 2077 has more interesting underlining systems that players will, eventually, like to engage with. Speaking to PC Games N, level designer Max Pears said the game won’t stop you from from playing it like a GTA....

The news comes from a Summer Game Fest interview with Geoff Keighley. You can watch the clip in question in the video embedded below. “Hideo Kojima says he didn’t predict the pandemic,” reads the tweet’s caption. “If he was a prophet, he says [he] would have been able to make a higher selling game.” Kojima also mentions that similar claims have been made in relation to his past games - perhaps most notably in his critique of the military-industrial complex throughout the Metal Gear series....

The news comes from a recent interview published by Polish website Spider’s Web. The interview featured Cyberpunk 2077 lead quest designer Pawel Sasko, and shed light on a range of new details about CD Projekt Red’s upcoming blockbuster - including the fact that players can finish Cyberpunk 2077 without completing the main quest. “All the most important choices in the game, all bosses and elite opponents - there is always a way to go without killing anyone,” said Sasko....

The acquisition also includes The Golf Club franchise. The acquisition is expected to close in the first calendar quarter of 2021. The financial terms of both deals were not disclosed.
